Swiss Gear Backpack

Swiss Gear Backpack - There's something about these backpacks that's made them very popular with backpackers the world over. I have been working around the country since the last 7 years - carrying my computer and all sorts of things along with me every step of the way. And as you will expect, Swiss gear backpack has been the glue that kept all my stuff intact on these travels.

I once had a backpack made by Head - although it was OK for carrying the odd things around, it was not durable enough to stand the long journeys that I took. It had a great design, cost very little and easy to maintain. But that was not the only thing I was looking for. I needed something I could use all year round; does not matter if it was raining, snowing or baking hot. Because of the lesser quality of the Head backpack compared with Swiss Gear Backpack, I thought I would spend a little more and get something worth relying on and trusting you precious laptop with.

They come in different designs as seen below. But make sure to check the prices and sizes because some of them are much bigger than the others. I bough another one last Christmas, and was very happy to have it delivered just 2 days after placing an order.

These Swiss Gear Backpack come with waterproof lining on the inside. Meaning that no matter how wet it is on the outside, your laptop and other items in the backpack are well protected from the element. Not only does it protect your possessions from water, it also has a padded interior for those unfortunate times that your backpack slides off your hand. If you've used laptops for sometime, chances are that you've dropped them from your desk by mistake, or your leg got caught on the cord. This is where the Swiss Gear Backpack shines. With the padded interior, it helps to cushion the impact on the laptop.

Before I bought it, I was a little worried that it might not be big enough to pack all my 'tool's in it given the compact nature of the backpacks - I was wrong. As the image shows to the right, you can see how many hidden compartments it has. It easily took both by 17 inch laptop, power cord, a few books, pants, wallet and mobile phones.

One thing you don't want happening to a backpack that's containing your laptop and other vital personal items is for it to give way suddenly - leaving your things on the street. That is unlike to happen with these Swiss Gear Backpack. The zippers are some of the toughest I've seen yet. This does not come as a surprise given that they are the company behind the world famous Swiss Army Knife.

Another great thing about this backpack is the ability to help you reduce the strains on your back. For someone who has been on the road for quite a while, this came as a blessing because I was starting to notice the occasional backpain and strains. I'm not sure if it was related to the previous backpack, but what I can say is that using the new Swiss Gear Backpack definitely helped.

For those of you who like to have water bottle to hand when on the road, this Swiss Gear Backpack also has compartments on both sides of the backpack. It is made with stretchable material allowing it to expand and take the shape and size of the bottle being inserted.

Having used it for a couple of years, I strongly recommend them - don't get anything else until you've tried the Swiss Gear laptop Backpack.
